Vocal circle

The “Vocal Circle” is a collective musical improvisation game in which voice is the only instrument.
Aggeliki organises workshops of “Circle Singing” (Vocal cycle), where she harnesses and develops the technique that she was taught by Bobby McFerrin, Rhiannon and Stollof Bob in New York.
The workshops focus on the knowledge and experience of the collective expression and interaction, the development of musicality and the exploration of the capabilities of the voice.
In the Vocal Cycle, basic principles of music are used such as: harmony, rhythmic precision, deep listening and improvisation in different rhythms, scales, musical idioms, freestyle phonetic vocabularies and structures.
The Voice Cycle Workshop have been held annually at the “Philippos Nakas Conservatory” (“Nakas Circle Singing”) until 2021.
In addition, Voice Cycle Workshops have been held within the framework of “Vitina World Jazz Festival” and “Windcraft Jazz Festival” (Cyprus), at the Music School of Meteora (2019 & 2017), at the Street art project-Municipality of Kifisia (2019), at Melijazz Festival 2018, at Artventure Camp 2018-Lefkada, at Marathon Municipal Theatre ( 2018), and in the 6th Αrtventure Camp 2019.
