Interactive Vocal & Body Music Performance with Aggeliki Toubanaki & Natasha Martin
As part of the 2nd Aegina Jazz Festival (17–18 July), Passing Through offers a unique participatory musical experience with Aggeliki Toubanaki and Natasha Martin in an original encounter of voice, rhythm, movement, and collective improvisation.
An open concert/ workshop/ sonic ritual, where the human voice and body become living musical instruments, and the audience becomes an integral part of the creative process.
Through Vocal Circle practice, body music, rhythmic play, improvisation, live looping, and real-time collective composition, the two artists create an interactive sonic landscape that emerges in the very moment of encounter.
Drawing inspiration from jazz, world music, traditional vocal practices, and contemporary improvisation, the performance unfolds as a living ritual of sound and communication, dissolving the boundaries between stage and audience.
Natasha Martin is a Greek American artist, cultural manager, and dance anthropologist. She approaches music through movement and promotes intercultural dialogue through the performing arts.
Aggeliki Toubanaki is a vocalist, PhD in Molecular Oncology, voice and vocal improvisation teacher, and Vocal Circle facilitator since 2013. For many years, she has explored the voice as a tool for connection, healing, and collective expression through improvisation and interdisciplinary artistic practices.
Open to everyone- musicians, performers, and people with no previous musical experience- Passing
Through invites participants to listen, move, express themselves, and create together.
