“Behind the Shop Window: Women of Work and Life”
March 6 – 31, 2026
In March 2026, the heart of art beat at the Kapnergostasio (Tobacco Factory), through a large-scale visual arts event featuring 450 artists—members of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece and students from Fine Arts Schools.
The artworks, inspired by issues of multifaceted violence, discrimination, and gender inequality, highlighted through diverse approaches the need to look “behind the shop window”—where experience becomes image and art becomes an act of social commentary.
As part of the exhibition, the Vocal Cycle – Circle Singing Greece took place, coordinated by Angeliki Toumpanaki, as a live, participatory action that activated the space and highlighted the voice as a means of collective expression and connection.
The vocal circle functioned as a sonic dialogue with the visual artworks, creating a field of shared experience, where the voice became a carrier of memory, empowerment, and solidarity.
