A holistic-ritualistic-intercultural theater
Based on Sophocles’ myth of Antigone and the Afro-Brazilian cultural expression of Capoeira
at the Roes Theater
on Thursdays, January 15, 22, and 29, 2026, at 9:15 p.m.
Guardians of memory and honor. Bodies that resist. Voices that refuse to submit. The ANTI-GONOI stand up to Creon’s authority, clash, become witnesses, and claim what should be self-evident: freedom and human integrity.
Using dance, battle, theater, and live music as tools, the performance composes a hybrid stage universe where different cultural references meet. Afro-Brazilian rhythms, ancient Greek tradition, and contemporary electronic soundscapes create an environment where the past converses with the present, the collective with the individual, and the local with the global.
