Circles: Connecting Sounds, Memories, Tradition and Contemporary Patterns

Stavros tou Notou Club
Wednesday, April 1st

Circles are our returns, our transformations—the moments when we lose ourselves and find our center again. They are where we catch our breath and feel safe, where we remember who we are and what we dream of. They are songs we love, friends we want to share them with, our need to surrender to spontaneity, a meeting place.
We open the circle. A circle that connects my roots with what I seek today; between what I have lived, what I continue to learn, and what I wish to create together with you.
I remain faithful to what makes me happy: collective creation, the spontaneous connection during our concerts, free expression through music—beyond race and gender, beyond borders and social norms.”
— Angeliki
Angeliki Toumpanaki, together with her collaborators, presents “Circles”: a deeply personal yet collective musical narrative. A new series of concert encounters designed not merely as live performances, but as experiences of listening, participation, and connection.
On Wednesday, April 1st, the “Circles” continue at Stavros tou Notou club—the very place where they first invited us to meet!
On stage, Angeliki and her exceptional permanent collaborators craft a distinctive musical universe where acoustic and electronic sounds coexist, and familiar melodies are reimagined with contemporary harmonies and structures. This musical performance is a multidimensional sonic journey that bridges genres, cultures, and sound identities. Starting from jazz and drawing open references to traditional, Balkan, Mediterranean, and contemporary soundscapes, “Circles” combines polyphonies, looping, and electronic elements to create a dynamic field of dialogue between the individual and the collective, the old and the new, the local and the global. The project draws material from Greek and international songs, original compositions, reinterpretations of beloved pieces, and intercultural musical motifs—while remaining firmly rooted in the realm of contemporary artistic creation.
Patterns that evoke communities and transport us to the traditions of peoples; atmospheric moments where sound becomes breath and movement; and explosive passages that lead us into circular dances, uniting our voices.
“And each of our circles is open—it holds voices, stories, memories, moments, and beloved faces.” — Angeliki
