Half Note Jazz Club hosts a unique series of concerts by Angeliki Toubanaki, entitled VOCALISM SESSIONS, where unique vocalists from different genres of music will exchange sounds, aesthetics, emotions, stories, lyrics, songs and will carry us away into the magical world of the Voice.
On March 5, at the 3rd Vocalism Session, Angeliki Toubanakis’ guests are the distinguished vocalists Martha Mavroida and Loukia Paleologou.
Martha Mavroidis has been involved in traditional music since her childhood, playing the lute and singing, She is a conductor and arranger of vocal ensembles, teaching and researching the voice. Loukia Paleologou is a performer, composer and teacher of Jazz music, one of the most important voices of the local jazz scene, with a characteristic improvisational and virtuosic ability.The Vocalism Sessions is an idea of vocalist and researcher Angeliki Toubanaki that arises from her need for musical communication, co-creation, for group vocal play, improvisations and the source joy of musical interaction. The aim is to create a common place of expression and exchange of ideas, experiences and voices. The baton of planning the sessions will be passed on to different vocalists from diverse musical genres each time.
