PhD, vocalist, vocal educator, performer, producer, sound experimentalist

Aggeliki Toubanaki explores and teaches the mechanism of vocalisation, studies conceptually and experientially the possibilities of the human voice through improvisation, artistic expression-composition and the interdisciplinary path. 

Aggeliki completed a lengthy cycle of scientific research and was awarded a PhD (Distinction) by the Medical School of the University of Athens in Cellular Biology.  

She experiments and co-creates within a wide and multi-thematic artistic universe. (dance, theatre, video art). She is the creator of a series of World and Electronic Jazz music projects. She conducts the choir of the Open Orchestra. She is a member of the Interdisciplinary “Voice Mentoring” Group, of the Feminicide Initiative, of JSN – Jazz Solidarity Network,  of the “Initiative against Femicide”. Aggeliki is the creator of the «FOR WOMEN Artivism project” and  ambassador of WHF – Women’s Health First Greece.

Her main axis of inspiration and expression is the deeper relationship between science and art and the artistic creation with a social imprint beyond borders and norms.
